The Way

For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 NIV

Have you ever had someone tell you,"all roads lead to Heaven." I even have a friend who says that surely God is smart enough to make more than one way.

Well.I just returned from a vacation where it took a total of six flights to get to where we were going and back. And every single time before takeoff, the flight attendant reviewed all of the safety precautions. And every single time, we were told that in case of an emergency, a light along the floor would show us the way to escape. Just follow the path.

And do you know - not one person questioned it. No one argued - what if I don't want to follow that particular path? Surely the builders of this plane were smart enough to create more than one way out. No -- we all accepted it -- gratefully.

Well - there is an emergency -- it's called our sinful condition. And our Father God loves us so much that He created a way of escape in the person of Jesus Christ - The Way, The Truth, and The Life.

Lord, show me the sin in my life, show me the way that I need to go, so that my sins will be forgiven and will lead me to eternity. Amen
